CoolSculpting®
Coolsculpting in Denver, CO area
What if we said you could lose those stubborn love handles or that bulge around your abdomen without having to undergo surgery? With CoolSculpting, now available in Denver, you can do just that. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Mouchantat, is able to trim and reshape your midsection and upper thighs using the revolutionary non-surgical CoolSculpting body contouring procedure.
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
Every year, it seems like technology finds yet another way around the need for knives and surgery, and CoolSculpting is one of the newest, most popular examples of this innovation. CoolSculpting utilizes a fat reducing process known as cryolipolysis to safely eliminate areas of excess fat over time without damaging surrounding tissue or skin.
During the CoolSculpting procedure, Dr. Mouchantat uses a specially designed wand to deliver targeted deep-cooling to a specific area of the body and induce your body’s natural, fat cell elimination process – simply put, the treatment freezes away the unwanted fat.
The procedure itself takes only about one hour per treated area. During your treatment, you are free to read, work from a laptop, or even watch a show from your phone or tablet. Depending on your unique situation, Dr. Mouchantat may recommend additional treatments over the next couple of weeks.
Years ago, scientists at Harvard University observed that some children who ate popsicles got dimples in their cheeks. The scientists—Dieter Manstein, MD and R. Rox Anderson, MD—realized that the popsicles were freezing and eliminating small pockets of fat cells.
The idea that cold can target fat cells—without damaging the skin or surrounding tissue—was the insight behind Cryolipolysis®, the proven science on which the CoolSculpting procedure is based.
The CoolSculpting procedure safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. Treated fat cells are crystalized (frozen), then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.
Is CoolSculpting Right for Me?
CoolSculpting is a procedure for men and women who are struggling to lose small amounts of stubborn fat around the abdomen or thighs despite a healthy lifestyle. Not everyone can adopt the same intense diets that athletes and bodybuilders put themselves through, and only so much time can be devoted to going to the gym and cooking every single, calorie-conscious meal. For many, despite their best efforts, there will always be some problem areas – CoolSculpting may be the solution.
Patients who would normally not consider cosmetic treatment or are not ready to undergo invasive surgery often consult with Dr. Mouchantat about their options with CoolSculpting. Because there is no downtime involved, CoolSculpting is an attractive alternative to surgery for those wanting to slim down, but haven’t seen the results they want from just diet and exercise alone.
You should also be aware that CoolSculpting won’t provide the same instantaneous results as a surgical procedure like liposuction. The freezing process will take some time, and you may need to undergo a series of treatments to achieve optimal results. However, as time goes on, you will notice dramatic improvements to the shape and contours of your body – all without needing to put your life on hold or spend time recovering from surgery. Long-lasting results of your CoolSculpting treatment can be maintained with an ongoing healthy lifestyle.

Though in the past, plastic surgery has been far more common among women, a rapidly increasing number of men have been seeking help from various surgical procedures as a means to refine and improve areas of their body they are unhappy with. Dr. Mouchantat has helped several male patients achieve their desired appearance with male plastic surgery in Denver. He understands that men seeking plastic surgery want the benefits of these procedures without having to compromise their masculinity and strives to provide each patient with results that look completely natural.
Below are some plastic surgery and non-surgical treatments that have become extremely common among men.
Fat Reduction and Body Contouring for Men
You can’t always get the body you want with just diet and exercise. Many men who regularly work out at the gym and eat relatively healthy foods can still struggle to lose stubborn fat in specific areas. While visceral fat (the fat surrounding the body’s organs) responds well to diet and exercise, subcutaneous fat (stubborn layers just beneath the skin) can often become resistant to traditional weight loss methods and are a source of much frustration.
Men who are unhappy with this stubborn fat may benefit from plastic surgery procedures such as liposuction, or non-surgical fat reduction procedures like CoolSculpting.
Excess skin is another common problem that cannot be fixed in the gym or the kitchen. After losing a large amount of weight, you may be stuck with excess areas of hanging skin throughout the body. Dr. Mouchantat offers various body contouring after weight loss surgeries (such as a tummy tuck) to help remove this excess skin and tighten and reshape your masculine form.
Gynecomastia is another common issue that Dr. Mouchantat sees among his male patients. When men struggle with excess breast tissue resulting in a feminine appearance of the chest, the condition is known as gynecomastia. A male breast reduction procedure with Dr. Mouchantat can help to reduce excess breast tissue and fat to achieve a taut and stronger appearance of the chest.
Facial Procedures and Treatments for Men
Facial plastic surgery is becoming more popular among men. As the traditional workplace continues to lean toward a more youthful and active culture, men are seeking out targeted facial surgeries, such as eyelid surgery, neck lifts, and non-surgical treatments to maintain a more youthful appearance.
The signs of aging can also simply take a toll on a man’s self-confidence. Dr. Mouchantat will speak with you to develop a completely personalized treatment plan that will help provide you with the natural-looking rejuvenation you desire.

Physical changes that occur during pregnancy can produce permanent effects on the overall shape and tone of your body. The skin may stretch or sag, breasts may lose volume or shape, and pockets of fat may persist, despite your efforts with diet and exercise.
What is a Mommy Makeover?
The term “mommy makeover” is used to describe a combination of body contouring and breast enhancement procedures that are all performed in the same surgery for maximum results and minimal recovery time.
The goal of a mommy makeover is to reverse some of the side effects of childbearing. Many women elect mommy makeovers to:
- Restore lost breast volume
- Raise or firm sagging breasts
- Tighten and tone the abdomen
- Remove pockets of excess fat
Mommy Makeover Options
One of the best things about a mommy makeover is that the options are virtually endless. A mommy makeover can be customized to target your problem areas. Through a combination of breast enhancement and body contouring procedures, a mommy makeover can turn back time, and help restore your pre-baby body.
Your Mommy Makeover may include:
The Mommy Makeover Procedure
Because a mommy makeover procedure is tailored to fit your needs, the details of surgery vary greatly among patients. The length of your surgery and the anesthesia used will depend on your cosmetic goals.
During surgery, Dr. Mouchantat will use surgical techniques that reshape, tighten and tone the body. Excess fat deposits will be removed to create a more slender and elegant body profile, while breast enhancement techniques will be used to lift and restore volume to the breasts. Following surgery, all incisions will be sutured and surgical dressings will be applied.
Mommy Makeover Aftercare
The length of your recovery will depend on the number of procedures performed during your mommy makeover. Immediately following surgery, swelling and bruising will obscure your results. It is likely that you will need to wear compression garments for several weeks to minimize swelling and promote total body healing.
The final outcome of your mommy makeover will become apparent as swelling and bruising gradually subside over the course of several weeks. Mobility may be limited for several days, but most normal activities, including work, may be resumed within one to two weeks. More strenuous activities, such as exercise, may be restricted for several weeks. Any scars present following your surgery will begin to fade and flatten gradually over several months.

The appearance of the abdomen can change dramatically because of aging, and after weight loss or pregnancy. The combination of extra skin and weakened abdominal muscles can be hard to improve with diet and exercise alone. If diet and exercise are not enough to improve the appearance of your abdomen, you may wish to explore a tummy tuck operation.
What Is a Tummy Tuck?
A tummy tuck is another name for an abdominoplasty, a surgical procedure that removes fat and skin from the abdomen and can tighten the underlying muscles. These are issues that cannot be solved with diet and exercise alone.
Board-certified Denver plastic surgeon, Dr. Mouchantat, performs tummy tuck operations for his patients who wish to:
- Flatten a protruding abdomen
- Rid the abdomen of extra skin
- Tighten the muscles of their abdomen
Tummy Tuck Options
If you only have fat deposits in the area below your navel, you may be able to get a smaller version of the tummy tuck, sometimes called a mini-tummy tuck. If you have more extensive skin and fat on the abdomen, you may need a full tummy tuck. A full tummy tuck may also be performed at the same time as liposuction. Dr. Mouchantat can help you decide which of these procedures is right for you.
The Tummy Tuck Procedure
During a tummy tuck, Dr. Mouchantat will make a large incision across your abdomen, from hipbone to hipbone. He will pull together the abdominal muscles, remove excess skin and fat, then reposition your belly button and close the incisions.
You must understand that tummy tuck operations leave a scar, which can extend from hip to hip. Though this scar should fade over time, this can vary by individual. This scar will be placed where it should not show when you wear a bathing suit.
Abdomenoplasty: Pre-op Instructions
Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, herbal medications or vitamin E for 14 days prior to surgery.
Shower with Hibiclens for 3 days and the evening before and the morning of surgery, use a clean towel each time. Do not use the Hibiclens on your face at all, only on your body. Hibiclens is not safe to use near your eyes. Shower 48 hours post op using the remaining Hibiclens soap for the next few showers. Hibiclens is available at your pharmacy.
Wear comfortable clothes to the surgery center, avoid tops that pull over the head and slip on shoes are best.
Bring your history and consent paperwork with you to the surgery center.
Fill prescriptions and read the instructions before the day of surgery. Discuss your regular medications and birth control pills prior to surgery.
Do not drive yourself to the surgery center; you will also need a ride home and someone to care for you for at least 24 hours.
Abdomenoplasty: Post-op instruction
Eat what sounds appetizing; smaller portions more often may be more comfortable than full meals.
Take medications as directed, try to keep some food in your stomach before taking pain medications as they can cause nausea. Pain medications can cause constipation, take plenty of liquids and an over the counter stool softener such as: Colace or Senna Kot can help prevent problems. Milk of Magnesia as directed on the bottle is safe if you are constipated.
Rest, but do not be sedentary for extended periods, raise your legs and flex the leg muscles frequently while resting and walk for 5-10 minutes four or five times a day, around the house is fine. Rest with your torso supported in an elevated position and knees bent, such as in a recliner. Maintain this flexed position while sleeping as well in order to minimize the stretch on your incision.
You may move your arms gently throughout the range of motion, no resistive exercise and no lifting more than 5 pounds with each hand.
Adjust your garment as needed, it should fit low on your abdomen, down to the pubic bone area, the abdominal binder should be snug but not impede a deep breath. Wearing a clean T-shirt under the binder will help prevent rubbing and scraping from the Velcro, change the T-shirt daily.
A gentle massage of tenderness or spasms in the muscles is OK.
You should take a shower in 48 hours from the surgery time unless your discharge paperwork tells you otherwise. Use the remaining Hibiclens for the first few showers. Wash right over the wounds and drain dressing taking care to keep the dressing intact.
Empty the drains and record the amount of fluid two or three times a day. Bring the record of output to your follow up office appointment.
If something doesn’t seem right to you, please call, we are happy to answer questions.
