Breast Lift in Denver CO area
Breasts that sag with age or weight loss can make you appear older or less fit. Fortunately, a breast lift with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Mouchantat in Denver can help bring back vibrancy and youth to your upper body.
The benefits of a breast lift include:
- Younger-looking, perkier breasts
- Increased breast firmness
- Improved nipple position and size
What Is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift in Denver, Colorado, or mastopexy, as performed by recognized breast surgeon Dr. Mouchantat, is the only manner in which sagging breasts can be significantly lifted. Using skin and tissue tightening techniques, Dr. Mouchantat can correct mild or even more severe drooping (also known as “ptosis”) of the breasts.
The best candidates for a breast lift in Denver are nonsmokers who are not planning to become pregnant (although a breast lift will not interfere with pregnancy).
The incisions Dr. Mouchantat will make may vary, based on your unique needs, and he will fully discuss these options during your consultation. Common surgical incisions include:
- Half or full circle Incision around the areola
- Vertical Incision from the bottom of the areola down to the breast crease
- Horizontal Incision along the breast crease
What to Expect in Surgery
For your breast lift, which is performed on an outpatient basis, you will most likely be under a general anesthetic for one to three hours, though in some cases, a local anesthetic with sedation may be used. After making the incision (as discussed in your consultation), Dr. Mouchantat will remove the excess skin that makes the breast sag and reshape the remaining tissue. He will then reposition and reshape the areola and close the incisions with sutures before covering them with surgical bandages.
Breast Lift Pre/Post Op Instructions
Following your breast lift in Denver, you will likely experience some bruising, swelling and mild discomfort. You may be prescribed medication to manage any pain. You will be required to wear a special bra at all times for the first few weeks to aid in proper healing of your breasts. After your incision dressings are removed in about a week or so, you will notice some scarring, which will fade over the following year.
It will take a few days before you feel ready enough to go back to work. Make sure to limit your activity and avoid any lifting or strenuous exercise for about a month. Over time, the look and feel of your breasts will continue to improve, helping you to feel more comfortable and confident with your body.
